Varieties: Very old native vines of 100% Xarel·lo.
Terrain: The vines are located on very poor clay and some calcareous soils at an altitude of between 300 and 500 metres. Terrain of the Tarragona region in the Baix Penedès and Alt Camp counties. They are all vines from the province of Tarragona that originate from the Baix Penedès and Alt Camp, so it is a wine variety without a DO status, a wine made from the vines close to the farmhouse.
Ageing: Produced, fermented and aged over 10 months with 20% of the wine in large, 300 and 400 litre French oak casks and the other in stainless steel tanks on its lees with bâtonnage, a stirring of the lees, each week.
Organic wine: Starting from the 2019 vintage.
Flora, fauna and landscape
Caring for our ecosystem
For us the ecosystem is very important. For this reason, we try to conserve all the species of flora and fauna found on our estate.
We employ traditional techniques and pick grapes by hand, following the legacy of past generations in order to minimise the impact on our countryside heritage.
We always look to the wisdom of the past in order to work in the present but, at the same time, thinking about our countryside so that it will continue to be a source of good wines in the future.
A wonderful winery on the north face of the farmhouse
It is a wonderful winery that transports us back to 200 or 300 years ago and allows us to remember how wine was produced in the past. The winery is on the north side, shaded by the farmhouse as this was the coolest part and maintained the best temperature. There are 5 fabulous underground vats for treading grapes in this winery, an old press, a manual grape crusher, carriers for harvesting with the wagon and old large casks. Albert's father joined the underground vats together and it is now air conditioned and used to store old vintages of wines from all of the projects.
