"Could you ever need me,
And would you know how?"
Christie McVie (1979)
And there begins Tusk, Fleetwood Mac's epic follow up to their epic album Rumours. After that album blew up the entire planet with its undeniable and enduring awesomeness, only a band of intergalactic genius would kick off the follow up with an introspective ballad like 'Over & Over.' What a track and what a false dawn, as the next track 'The Ledge' blows the collective Fleetwood Mac fan hive band into smithereens with its overt weirdness and foreshadows the fact that nothing about 'the Mac' will ever be the same again. What an important moment in music history, the band that helped create the sound of smooth LA cool announces its end, with Roxy Music's Avalon to come as a fitting epitaph in 1982. For this reason, 'Over & Over' signifies the ability to break with the past, transcend expectation and convention, to redefine yourself, and to be thoroughly awesome all at the same time. This is a delicious drop from the Quarry Ridge Vineyard. Hyper cool climate from the site that produces Gymkata Syrah, Admiral Ackbar Sémillon and Icarus Cab Merlot.
The fruit was hand-harvested in a single pass and the vast majority of the Pinot Noir was destemmed and lightly crushed atop a minute 10% whole-clusters at the bottom of the bank. The lot was cold soaked for four days the warmed up and fermented naturally with daily hand plunging over the course of 19 days. It was then pressed very slowly and carefully directly to French barriques (5% new) where it aged for six months with two rackings during that time. The barrels were then blended to tank to settle for two weeks prior to being bottled without fining or filtration and just a small sulfur addition.

Aromas of rose petal, roadside forest berries, and ripe mandarin flesh. The palate is a beauty with green almond, green peppercorn, slight salted caramel fudge and a splash of iced coffee. Lovely tannin, underlying berry flavors and a heap of spice.
Konpira Maru started, as many great ideas do, as an idea born from two mates having a beer at the pub.
Working in the retail, production and education sectors of the wine industry for many years, we were searching for our own creative outlet. Sharing similar viticultural, winemaking and beer-drinking values, we set out on our vinous journey and from these humble beginnings, produced the first vintage in 2014, which resulted in just 600 bottles.
We set out to make interesting wines with minimal intervention and maximum care. Wines that were full of character, with a focus on affordability and a high-drinkability factor.
Our goal was simple – to produce wines we wanted to drink and to inject a little fun into an industry often accused of taking itself too seriously.
Now we make wine from the South Burnett and Granite Belt regions in Queensland as well as Kilmore in Victoria, with the help of our crew of amazing growers. In 2016, we took on our own Whitlands vineyard, sitting high above the King Valley. Here we farm Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Gris organically on beautiful red soil, surrounded by stunning sub-alpine Eucalypt forest. A magic part of the world.
