Description

Not our first batch, but our first release. Takes time to practice so why take it out on you, Bree’s ultimate homebrew. A magnificent method of calculated guessing produced this glorious taste experience at an alcohol level that anyone can handle.

Black pepper, grapefruit, cranberry-tea, totally smashable, the ultimate day-drinking beverage, and then some, wild berries and herbs.

A deliberately low alcohol and sustainable wine made from partially fermented and pressed grapes skins. Our orange-rose piquette is made from the skins of pinot gris, muscat, and riesling with the addition of Coast Range spring water. The wine is still not sparkling because we have not added the optional addition of sugar to fermentation, preferring to make low calorie dry wine. It is important to consider Piquette as a beverage unto itself the process of its production and the varied yeasts in production blur the flavor categories between sour beer, orange wine, kombucha and cocktails, think gin & tonic, fruit-punch and herb-based cocktails or even use as a mixer in a modern-day whiskey sour. At 7% alcohol Piquette is intended to be a refreshing, simple, cheerful, quaffer or porch pounder, if you will.

Products With Purpose.

The purchase of this wine supports female farmers, regenerative agriculture and, equity and diversity in wine.

Our mission is to work with grape growers to convert to regenerative organic farming practices for the health of our wine community and industry.

Our commitment to growing the grape variety diversity in the Willamette Valley further supports regenerative organic farming by protracting the pruning and harvest periods in this region from four weeks to more than eight. This allows growers and vineyard management companies to provide long-term salaried positions to more vineyard stewards and to provide healthy harvest conditions for their workers. When any farming region exists on the success of a monocrop or monovarietal its resilience to the climate crisis is drastically reduced. In 2020 we saw 85% of Willamette Valle producers forfeit their Pinot noir crop due to wildfire smoke this also meant that the communities who rely on the income from picking fruit also suffered, and those who decided to harvest let their workers pick the unhealthy and damaging air quality conditions. We believe in partnering with farmers, distributors, and retailers who are committed to the health and success of all in the wine supply chain.
