Melon de B.
100% Melon de Bourgogne. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts at 20°C. Aged for 6 months on lees in concrete tanks. No added sulphur.
Father-and-son team Bernard and Benoit (part of the great Landron clan) farm around 25 hectares to the north-east of Nantes. Organic since 2010, they have a patchwork of vineyards mostly situated around the towns of Ligne and Udon. Soils are mostly a mix of decomposed volcanic material; mica schist, granite and gneiss. Benoit started making Pet-Nat in 2013 and has proved to be rather good at it.

Under the Bonnet started from a South London basement as a time-consuming hobby in 2015, with a simple idea: to promote the naturally made wines that we love to drink.
With roots in the Muscadet area, it was only natural to first focus on the diverse wines of the Loire. Since then we have ventured further to embrace the rest of France, Germany, Italy, Chile and more recently, the UK.
We seek out growers who make characterful wines that reflect their region, and pride ourselves on our close relationship we those we work with. It is a joy to get to know their families, vineyards and wines. We work with growers who operate simply and with respect for their land, looking both towards the future and back to the traditions of their region.
