Winemaking Notes: Grenache Blanc and Refosco were pressed directly with only a couple hours skin contact, while the other varieties were fermented to dryness on their skins. For the 2020 vintage, all of the red fermentations saw a portion of stem inclusion, typically about 1/3, which really lifted the wine’s freshness and spice notes.

Tasting Notes: Stylistically, this is in the same vein as previous years- a lighter, chillable red that possesses a lot of aromatic and textural depth despite its relatively limpid color. The higher portion of Merlot in this year’s blend has provided a touch more backbone, while the inclusion of Sangiovese adds more liveliness and succulent red fruit notes. This wine has shown the ability to age for a couple years in bottle, but it’s so good now, we don’t have the patience to wait. Like its white counterpart, this will match just about any food on your table, and we’ll be sipping it all year long.

"Viewing a great mixtape as a series of disparate songs coming together to form a cohesive whole, we approached our Mixtape wine from this perspective, combining grapes both red and white, from different sites, fermented and approached in slightly varying styles. The resultant wine is a cohesive, moving whole, a light, succulent red wine that possesses the freshness and brightness of a white wine, the buoyancy and joyfulness of a rosé, and the savory aromatics and textural presence of a red wine.

Cameron and Marlen Porter started Amplify Wines with the goal of making wines that enhance the most singular characteristics of a given vineyard, marrying a sense of place with a sense of style. Although not fans of dogma, there are certain winemaking and farming principles that are central to their beliefs: native yeast fermentations, neutral vessels for fermentation and aging, no additions of any kind beyond sulfur, embracing happy accidents and letting intuition be their guide, and farming that seeks to establish a healthy ecosystem, embracing the natural characteristics of a given place.
