It’s spicy and smoky, with fleshy fruit and dusty tannins. Sandy loam soil from decomposed pink granite.
The vineyards of Cardedu are in the area of Ogliastra, the most mountainous and least populous province on the island. Here on the southeast coast of Sardegna the Loi family grows and makes wines from the native varieties Vermentino, Cannonau, and Monica. Averge vine age of 15 years.
Hand harvested. Fermented with native yeats for 11 days in controlled temperature stainless steel. Malolcatic fermentation. Elevage begins in cement and stainless steel tanks and finishes in botti grandi. Unfiltered.
