Description
Bright red fruit flavors with a silky texture and elegant tannins. Native yeasts and partial whole cluster fermentation
The Willful winemaking style embodies the duality of a strong will and using restraint when necessary. Pinot noir can be a tough grape to work with, but it can also be the most rewarding in its elegance, balance, and complexity. We seek to unleash its unique complexity with gentle viticulture, native yeast fermentation, and minimal French oak influence, bringing out the true nature of the grape from carefully selected Willamette Valley vineyards. We also offer Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux-varietal red blends from the Walla Walla AVA in eastern Oregon.
Owner/Winemaker Pam Walden was born in the UK and worked as a producer in television production and advertising before being lured in to the wine world. She has a black belt in tae kwondo and likes to go to Burning Man. She loves working in a vineyard, smelling fermenters and talking about wine. She hates paperwork. She has two delightful grown sons and a wonderful partner. When she's not in the winery you may find her puttering about in her vegetable garden or trying to play tennis.
Assistant Winemaker Kyla Walsh was born in southern California and came to Oregon for the 2020 harvest. She is a goddess in the cellar and has a history of brewing beer and distilling spirits as well as making wine.
Life is an ever-unfolding story…
