Description
A bright, expressive Pinot Noir from the foothills of the Pyrenees, La Closerie des Lys offers finesse, freshness, and balance. Aromas of red cherry, raspberry, and wild strawberry mingle with subtle notes of rose petal and spice.
On the palate, it’s light to medium-bodied with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and flavors of ripe red fruit, earth, and a hint of herbs. The finish is smooth and elegant, reflecting the wine’s cool-climate origins.
An easy-drinking yet refined Pinot Noir that pairs beautifully with roast chicken, salmon, charcuterie, or mushroom dishes.
In 1986 two childhood friends, Christian Collovray (Viticulturist) and Jean-Luc Terrier (Winemaker), started Collovray et Terrier. La Closerie des Lys wines are made by Collovray et Terrier from grapes mainly grown in the high valley of river Aude in the Languedoc. The main part of the vineyard is located on the South of the city of Carcassonne in the Languedoc in Limoux. This area is one of the best areas in the South of France for growing Pinot Noir due to its altitude and the cooler temperatures which provide a long and complete maturation of the grapes. The terroir is made up of clay and limestone and the altitude of the vines is between 350 – 500 metres.
