Description
Rosé ~ Gamay / Cabernet Franc
The 2023 rosé is a blend of 70% Gamay and 30% Cabernet Franc, sourced from the high-elevation granite soils of Barsotti Vineyard in El Dorado. Harvested in mid-September and early October, both grape varieties were kept separate during the winemaking process to preserve their distinct qualities and allow for a decision on the final blend. To ensure the retention of acidity and freshness in the wine, the grapes were whole cluster pressed to stainless steel for native yeast fermentation and then rested in neutral puncheons before blending and bottling.
Perfumes of stone fruit, spring flowers and grapefruit peel. Citrus, melon, early strawberry, Himalayan pink sea salt on the palate. This is a playful wine. Light on its feet and ready to dance.
Creative Growth + Jolie-Laide Label Collaboration
Each year we pay tribute to the distinct vintage which make up our wines as we label our bottles with fresh artwork. As the labels change, we are reminded that no two years, seasons, or bottlings will ever be the same. This year is particularly special as we reunite with our friends of Creative Growth Art Center in Oakland, CA in celebration of their 50th anniversary. The artists supported by Creative Growth always captivate and motivate us. Reuniting with them as the artists for this year’s label series seemed truly aligned as these wines are the first to be bottled in our new winery in Sonoma. Creative Growth is a non-profit organization which offers a professional studio environment to support the artistic development, gallery exhibition, and representation of individuals with developmental disabilities. For 50 years, Creative Growth has served as a sanctuary for free expression and personal growth that is recognized around the world for its vision and human kindness.
