Vineyard notes: Sourced from a medley of sites across Sonoma Valley, this wine highlights some of the best of what the region has to offer. Out coldest vineyard and furthest north (Kenwood) is home to 30 year-old, own-rooted dry farmed Primitivo. At 400ft in elevation, our Kimberly Vineyard (Kenwood) grows low yielding and structured Zinfandel. In what is known to locals as the “banana belt,” the Bedrock Vineyard in Glen Ellen hosts sunbaked Petite Sirah and Alicante Bouchet. Only a quarter mile from downtown Sonoma, the Hooley Vineyard Petite Sirah brings an incredible element of minerality. This wine covers a lot of ground, but truly represents why these heritage varieties grow to perfection in Sonoma Valley
Two Chicago natives met serendipitously during the 2017 wine harvest in Sonoma. While they both have day jobs (Rande in Vineyard Management, Aaron in Finance/Business Planning) their desire was to create a new, unique wine label to bring their love of Sonoma wines back to their hometown of Chicago
Rande is a journeyman in wine, having worked as a grape grower, winemaker and cellar master. Aaron was a jaded banker who left his finance life in Chicago for the 2017 harvest and never looked back.
With connections to legendary vineyard sources Rande and Aaron wanted to pay homage to the rich grape growing and winemaking history while showcasing the bright future of Sonoma Valley
